PAY ATTENTION TO COLTS SOCCER

Colts soccer in many years has been the system through which many of our football icons were identified and nurtured into our national teams.
Street soccer as it is sometimes referred to, is played basically in every community in Ghana. This ranges from the small poles, four corners to one community against the other.

It was through Colts soccer that players like former skipper Stephen Appiah, Daniel Addo, Ishmael Yartey, Laryea Kingston, Tony Yeboah, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Anthony Annan, John Mensah, Richard Kingston, Odartey Lamptey and many others were groomed to improve their skills.
According to Daniel ‘Darling Boy’ Addo his talent was unearth and nurtured through the Colts soccer system. And he believes that if much attention is put in Colts soccer our premier leagues and national teams will perform better than they are doing today.
Ghana Football president, Mr. Kwasi Nyantekyei before his tenure into office said he would improve Colts soccer. Yet not much has been done to raise Colts soccer standards in the country.
Many Colts soccer clubs in the country do not receive any form of sponsorship from the GFA, rather the growth of the club and players falls solely on the club owners. This therefore has made the development of Colts soccer difficult.
