When
it comes to boxing in recent times, Ghana cannot boast of many world titles as
compared to the professor’ Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey and many other great
boxers Ghana has produced.
The
IBF Bantam weight title holder Joseph Agbeko who is described by enthusiasts as
the ‘King Kong’ seem to be the only boxer on fire at the moment as he prepares
to lock horns with Abner Mares, come this August in Las Vagas.
Braimah
Kamoko who is rated number one in Africa, recently thrashed his opponent
Vikapita Meroro, to win the WBO Africa light heavyweight, this win therefore
means ‘Bukom Banku’ is now set to feature for world titles.
The
best is yet to come for Ghana as many of our amateur boxers seem to be
improving beyond wearing head gears to cement a place in professional boxing.
A
promising lad has been discovered in the boxing fraternity, it is no other than
Sena Zewuze Agbeko, a former amateur boxer who was awarded as the most
disciplined boxer during the 2009 Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Awards.
Considering
his vigorous performance, Sena is no doubt a boxer to watch out for, as he
possesses the qualities of a professional boxer set to storm international
stages.
During
his days as an Amateur boxer, Sena was always on fire anytime he entered the
ring, this made his fans and boxing enthusiasts acclaim him as “the lord of the
ring”.
With
his kickboxing back ground Sena always sends shivers to the spine of his
opponents due to his ability to rock them with steady and accurate supply of
right and left jabs.
The
light heavyweight boxer recently went professional. He had his first debut at
the Lebanon House when the Junior Walaga promotion and consultants organized
yet again another stage event. His invigorating performance came as a surprise
to the crowd when he locked horns with Cudjoe Darah.
After
that bout, Grand master, Joshua Clottey could not hide his amusement as he
entered the ring to congratulate the new chap. During this event, Sena recorded
his first knockout.
During
the weekly boxing trails of the African Golden Gloves Warriors (AGGW) at the
Prison’s canteen, Sena has so far put up scintillating performance by recording
three straight knockouts.
It
is always exciting to watch this talented boxer, with his great jabbing and
punching power.
